A beach on Kuroshima Island (黒島) floating off the coast of Sashio in Usuki City, opening from June 1 (Monday) to August 31 (Monday) in 2026. The appeal lies in the unique sense of adventure from taking a ferry from Sashio Port (佐志生港) to reach this remote island. The ferry operates from 6 AM to 6 PM, with round-trip fares of 500 yen for junior high school students and above, and 250 yen for ages 3 to elementary school students. From July 4 (Saturday) through late August, a shop opens on the island where you can buy drinks and snacks, so it's safe even to arrive empty-handed. With a campground also on-site, you'll see families spending the day leisurely with tents pitched. Enjoy the clear water and rock pool play on this quiet, remote-island-style beach until evening.

Tips

Car access is the standard way to reach Sashio Port. The last ferry departs at 6 PM, so it's recommended to wrap up by around 5 PM to allow time for changing clothes and packing. The shop operates from July 4 through late August, so bring your own drinks and snacks for other times. Since shade is limited, a tent or parasol is helpful for comfort.

Best time to visit

Taking the ferry in the early afternoon (around 1 PM) allows you to enjoy the island's sea abundantly until evening.
