About this spot

Operating from July 4 (Saturday) to August 31 (Monday) 2026 (September weekends and holidays only), this is an outdoor leisure pool at Rakutentchi in Beppu City. Its main feature is using geothermal spring water heated to approximately 28°C (82°F), allowing visitors to experience the warmth unique to Beppu, a hot spring town, while playing in the water. The water slide, suitable for children and adults 120cm or taller, offers exhilarating thrills, while water guns and fountain play equipment provide safe fun for younger children. Located on a hillside, Rakutentchi offers views of Beppu's cityscape and Beppu Bay while you play. The pool package includes park admission, making it possible to spend a full day enjoying both the pool and amusement rides.

Tips

Pricing: Pool set (including park admission) costs ¥2,000 for adults and ¥1,200 for children. Operating hours are 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM, so we recommend keeping morning sightseeing brief and concentrating on pool play from noon. The water slide is for those 120cm or taller, so younger children can enjoy the fountain equipment and shallower areas. There's a shop on-site, so lunch can be purchased locally.

Best time to visit

Entering at noon allows you to enjoy the afternoon fully, with about 4 hours of water play until closing at 4 PM.
