A swimming beach on Aoshima (青島), about 8 km south of central Miyazaki City (宮崎市), surrounded by the Devil's Washboard (鬼の洗濯板), a national place of scenic beauty and natural monument. In 2026 it is open from Friday, July 3 to Sunday, August 30, with swimming hours from 9:00 to 17:00. Entry is free, changing rooms, hot showers (paid) and coin lockers are in place, and there is the Aoshima Beach Center (青島ビーチセンター) with lifeguards on duty, so even families with small children can spend the day with peace of mind. With attractions such as Aoshima Shrine (青島神社) and the Devil's Washboard right nearby, being able to combine sightseeing with sea bathing is this beach's appeal. Swimming is free, but the changing rooms and hot showers are paid. Having small change ready makes it smooth. Swimming hours end at 17:00, so allowing time to change and wrapping up around 16:45 is recommended. The parking lot gets crowded during the summer holidays, so consider using public transport.
