A learning interlude touching on history connected to the Manyoshu
About this spot
A historical museum standing in Takaoka (高岡), where Otomo no Yakamochi (大伴家持), a poet of the Manyoshu (万葉集), was posted as provincial governor. The exhibits center on introducing the world of the Manyoshu and life at the time in an easy-to-understand way through video and models, designed so that even children who dislike history can learn while enjoying themselves. The interior is air-conditioned, making it valuable as a place to take a breather during the hot hours of summer. Between sea bathing, get in touch with the history and culture of Toyama (富山).

高岡市に広がる雨晴・松太枝浜海水浴場は、2026年は7月5日(日)から8月16日(日)まで開設されます。海の向こうに立山連峰を望むことができる景観の美しさが魅力で、富山県内でも人気の海水浴スポットのひとつです。無料駐車場が150台分用意されているため、車での来場でも駐車場探しに困りません。隣接するキャンプ場には炊事場・トイレ・冷水シャワーが整っており、海水浴のあとに手軽に身支度を整えられるのもうれしいポイントです。波打ち際での水遊びから砂浜での砂遊びまで、夕方まで富山の夏の海をたっぷり楽しみましょう。
Tips
ひみ番屋街から車で15分ほどの距離です。無料駐車場は150台分ありますが、夏の週末は混み合うことがあるため早めの到着が安心です。シャワーは冷水のみのため、着替え用のタオルを多めに用意しておくと快適に過ごせます。海の向こうに立山連峰が見える日は絶好の撮影チャンスです。
Tips
It is about 15 minutes by car from Amaharashi Roadside Station (道の駅雨晴). Photography is limited to certain areas inside, so check the signage as you look around. The interior is spacious and built to be easy to tour with a stroller.
Best time to visit
About 45 minutes. The morning is relatively empty and lets you look around at a leisurely pace
