Nakamura Beach in Okinoshima Town is open in 2026 from Saturday, July 11 to Sunday, August 23. Its main appeal is the crystal-clear water typical of the Oki Islands, and it is a beach the whole family can enjoy, from wading at the water's edge to swimming out into deeper water. Running water, restrooms, and showers are available at the adjacent Sazae Mura, so you can change clothes or rinse off with peace of mind. Surrounded by nature, it is a quiet setting where you can forget the bustle of the city and relax. Bask in the afternoon sun and fully enjoy the summer sea until evening.

Tips

Running water, restrooms, and showers are available through the facilities at the adjacent Sazae Mura. Island beaches have limited amenities, so it is a good idea to bring a sun shelter tent and plenty of drinks. Since this is a remote island, keep an eye on your physical condition and changes in the weather, and enjoy yourself within your limits.

Best time to visit

The afternoon after 1 pm sees rising temperatures, making it a pleasant time to swim right through to evening.
