An established sake brewery in the heart of the Takehara Townscape Preservation District, its substantial architecture dating from the Edo period alone conveys the charm characteristic of Takehara. It's also known as the brewery associated with the founder of Nikka Whisky, preserving the history of Takehara's prosperity as a sake-brewing town. Even without entering, simply gazing at the white-walled building with wooden latticed windows while strolling offers plenty to see. It's a perfect stopping point to conclude your morning walk.

竹原市の忠海港からフェリーで渡る大久野島にある海水浴場で、2026年は7月18日(土)から8月16日(日)まで、9時から16時の時間で開設されます。入場は無料で、シャワーは1回300円と手軽に利用できます。トイレや更衣室、売店のほか、貸し桟敷や貸浮輪もそろっているため、手ぶらに近い装備でも安心して1日過ごせます。休暇村大久野島までは徒歩約5分で、軽食の購入も可能です。瀬戸内海ならではの穏やかな波の中、波打ち際の水遊びから砂遊びまで、フェリーで渡った先だけの特別感のある海水浴を楽しめます。

Tips

忠海港からフェリーで移動し、桟橋から海水浴場までは徒歩で向かいます。シャワー利用は小銭(300円)を用意しておくとスムーズ。海水浴場の開設は16時までなので、帰りのフェリー時刻から逆算して、遅くとも15時台には片付けを始めるのがおすすめです。浮き輪やパラソルは貸し出しがありますが数に限りがあるため、早めの時間帯の利用が安心です。
