About this spot

Located on Okuono Island, reached by ferry from Chukai Port in Takehara City, this beach will operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 18 (Saturday) through August 16 (Sunday) in 2026. Admission is free, and showers are conveniently available for 300 yen per use. With restrooms, changing rooms, shops, as well as rental beach umbrellas and rental floats, you can spend the entire day with minimal luggage. Kyukamura Okuono Island, about a 5-minute walk away, also offers light meals. Enjoy the special experience of swimming in the calm waters characteristic of the Seto Inland Sea, from wading to sandcastle building, on this side-by-ferry island escape.

Tips

Travel by ferry from Chukai Port, then walk from the pier to the beach. Keep small change (300 yen) ready for shower use. Since the beach closes at 4 p.m., start packing by late afternoon, working backward from your ferry departure time. While floats and parasols are available for rent, quantities are limited, so arriving early is advisable.

Best time to visit

After 1 p.m., the afternoon sun is stable, allowing you to enjoy the sea for a long time until the ferry departure
