The expansive grassland and mountain views offer a refreshing atmosphere different from the lakeside. It's a perfect stopping point to move your body a bit or feel the highland air before beach swimming.

高島市マキノ町にある琵琶湖の湖水浴場で、2026年は7月1日(水)から8月31日(月)まで開設されます。遠浅で波が穏やかな砂浜は、海のように潮の満ち引きや潮風の心配がなく、小さな子ども連れでも安心して水遊びを楽しめます。普通車約300台分の駐車場を備えており、車での来訪もしやすいのが特長です。周囲は緑豊かな高島の山並みに囲まれ、湖水浴と自然の景観を同時に楽しめる人気のビーチです。夕方まで水際での水遊びや砂遊びをたっぷり満喫しましょう。
Tips
遊泳は無料ですが、駐車場は日帰り普通車1,200円かかります。夏の砂浜は日差しが強いので、パラソルや日よけ、サンダルを用意すると快適です。売店や設備は時期によって異なるため、飲み物や軽食は持参すると安心です。
Tips
About 10 minutes by car from the Metasequoia Tree-Lined Avenue. In summer, the operation of facilities may change, so it's recommended to focus on strolling and viewpoints. The sun is strong, so don't forget a hat.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour required. Before noon is relatively less crowded and more pleasant.
