Located in Kaminotsu-ura, Ariake Town, Amakusa City, Shiro-ga-hama Beach is one of Amakusa's most popular beaches, chosen for the Ministry of Environment's Top 100 Quality Beaches. Open for the season from June 28 (Sunday) to August 31 (Monday) 2026, swimming itself is free. Changing rooms, showers, and coin lockers are fully equipped, with 50 free parking spaces available, so families with lots of luggage can visit without worry. With calm waters and a wide sandy beach, you can enjoy everything from shoreline water play to sand play until evening, which is the charm of this beach.

Tips
Showers cost 100 yen, coin lockers cost 200 yen. If the free designated parking fills up, nearby private parking (500 yen per day) is available. Don't forget beach sandals as summer sand gets hot. Accounting for changing time, leaving from around 4 PM is recommended.
Best time to visit
Afternoons after 1 PM get crowded with beach visitors, but as evening approaches, the sun becomes less intense and more comfortable.
