Once built as a villa for businessmen and financiers, beloved by many literary figures, Kiunsoan is a landmark modern Japanese-style building in Atami. Registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan, visitors can tour the interior and the well-maintained Japanese garden, with each room showcasing different designs—a fresh experience for both adults and children. After viewing, have an early lunch at nearby restaurants to secure plenty of time for beach swimming.

熱海駅からほど近く、椰子の木が立ち並ぶ南国リゾートのような雰囲気が魅力の海水浴場です。2026年は7月11日(土)から8月30日(日)まで開設され、営業時間は9時から16時まで。遊泳は無料で、更衣室やシャワー、海の家も整っているため、手ぶらに近い形で気軽に楽しめます。ビーチパラソルやサマーベッドのレンタル(各2,000円)もあり、日差しの強い時間帯でも快適に過ごせます。波打ち際での水遊びから砂遊びまで、営業終了の16時までしっかり楽しみましょう。
Tips
駐車場は有料(30分110円)で、夏の週末は混み合うため公共交通機関の利用も安心です。夏の砂浜は熱いのでビーチサンダル必携。営業時間は16時までなので、着替えの時間も見込んで15分前には切り上げるのがおすすめです。
Tips
About 10 minutes by bus from Atami Station. Some areas inside require removing shoes and wearing provided slippers, so comfortable footwear is recommended. Finishing lunch at a restaurant along the way to Atami Sun Beach avoids rushing on the sand.
Best time to visit
Approximately 45 minutes (not including lunch time). Touring around noon and finishing lunch by 1 p.m. is recommended.
