Held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, around Susanoo Shrine (素盞嗚神社), this is a summer tradition of Kuroki-machi. About 990 fireworks color the mountain-ringed night sky, creating a powerful spectacle as the sound echoes off the surrounding mountains. The fireworks, launched as if watched over by Susanoo Shrine, the local guardian deity, and the adjacent nationally designated wisteria tree, have a charm unique to this land. Unlike fireworks displays in the city, these 90 minutes let you fully enjoy fireworks resounding through a quiet mountain village.

The event may be cancelled or postponed in case of severe weather, so check Yame City's or local announcements for whether it will be held on the day. It gets dark underfoot around the venue at night, so bringing a flashlight is a good idea. Roads around the area get crowded after the event ends, so it's recommended to leave at staggered times.
