On Monday, July 20, 2026, the Misasa Onsen Fireworks Festival takes place on the Mitoku riverbed upstream of Koidani Bridge. Fireworks concentrated into a mere five minutes, from 8:25 to 8:30 p.m., color the Misasa night sky, ringed by mountains. Held almost every night through the summer, from July 20-24 and July 27-31, the beauty of the fireworks reflected on the river's surface is exceptional despite the short duration. Because of the location surrounded by a gorge, you can also enjoy the distinctive power of the fireworks' sound echoing off the mountains. Brief yet concentrated, this is a summer tradition unique to Misasa Onsen.
