On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, a fireworks festival closing out Suimu Shrine's Grand Festival is held on the riverbed of the Kiso River. About 1,000 fireworks launch from 7:50 to 9:00 p.m., their sound echoing off the mountains surrounding the Kiso Valley for a resonance you can feel in your body. The sight of large fireworks blooming one after another in the clear mountain-valley night sky has a scale quite different from a fireworks festival in the city. The moment the fireworks reflect on the surface of the Kiso River is also a beautiful sight unique to this place.
