Next stop: Watch the Fireworks Coloring the Night Sky Over the Tanba CountrysideAbout this spot
A community facility serving as the activity base of the Ikusato Community Development Association, made up of 11 neighborhood associations in the Isō district. Its parking lot features a sightseeing sign promoting the area as the town through which Japan's lowest-elevation central watershed divide in a valley runs, letting you learn how water divides toward the Sea of Japan to the north and the Seto Inland Sea to the south while comparing it with the nearby Mukoyama and Shimizuyama mountains you can see from here. The venue for the Ikusato Festival is Mizuwakare Park, also in Isō, Hikami-cho. In the evening, move to the venue and finish up dinner and securing a spot to watch the fireworks amid the atmosphere of the local summer festival.
Tips
Temporary traffic restrictions may be in place on the day, so follow the signage around the venue. It is reassuring to pick up food and drinks early.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour. Around sunset, the festival mood builds even further
