Around Matsudo Garrison (松戸駐屯地), where the fireworks will be launched, food stalls line up for the Bon Odori festival, bustling with local residents. From evening onward, paper lanterns gradually light up, building the atmosphere of a classic summer festival. Have dinner from the food stalls while watching the circle of Bon Odori dancers, and secure a spot for where the fireworks will begin.

Given that it's a military garrison, entry procedures and rules on what you can bring in may be set, so it's reassuring to check official guidance in advance. Roads in the area tend to get congested from evening onward, so allow plenty of time to get there.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 15 minutes. The dusk hours, when the lanterns light up, are especially atmospheric.
