Kumano-nada (熊野灘) is the sea area stretching from Cape Shiono-misaki at the southern tip of the Kii Peninsula to Cape Daio-zaki in Mie Prefecture. The Kuroshio Current flows northeast offshore, and the deeply indented, ria-type coastline has long supported the development of fishing ports here. It is also a scenic sea within Yoshino-Kumano National Park. The Koza River, which you will visit today, flows into this Kumano-nada at Koza in Kushimoto. Since tonight's fireworks venue is also along the Koza River, walking around the area where the river meets the sea during the day will help you choose a good spot for viewing at night.
Tips
You will travel by car from the roadside station. Some sections along the riverbank have soft footing, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 15 minutes. The afternoon, when the sunlight softens a little, is a good time for a relaxed stroll.
