About this spot

This is a historic temple, said to have been founded in the Nara period, that represents Kawachinagano. Historic buildings including the Kondo main hall, a National Treasure, as well as a two-story pagoda and a dining hall, line the temple grounds, giving it the dignified presence of a renowned Shingon-sect temple. The spacious grounds, surrounded by greenery, allow for an unhurried visit, making it a perfect starting point for exploring the history unique to the Okukawachi area.

Tips

An admission fee may be required to visit part of the grounds. There's plenty of shade in summer, but be sure to stay hydrated.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. Mornings through midday tend to be relatively calm and easier for visiting.
