About this spot

Rising in the northern part of Sendai City, this is a satoyama (rural mountain) beloved by local residents. Walking trails and campgrounds are maintained at its base, and thanks to the elevation, a relatively cool breeze blows through even in summer. Its appeal lies in being able to feel the richness of nature just by walking the tree-lined paths, even without a full-fledged mountain climb. It is a perfect spot for families to relax away from the heat of the city.

Tips

Convenient access by bus or car from central Sendai City. Comfortable shoes and insect repellent spray are reassuring to have. Mornings and evenings can be cool even in summer, so a light layer is comfortable to bring.

Best time to visit

About 2 hours. Mornings through midday are relatively cool and comfortable for walking.
