About this spot

The gateway to Onagawa Town, rebuilt as a symbol of recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake. The building features an impressive large wooden roof designed by architect Shigeru Ban, and it includes a hot spring facility within the station. From the platform, you can see Onagawa Bay, with an open view typical of a harbor town spreading out before you. The straight plaza extending from the station toward the sea is the starting point for Onagawa tourism.

Tips

This is the terminal station of the JR Ishinomaki Line. The station plaza is open to pedestrians, so you can observe the surroundings at your leisure.
