Experience the romance of ancient times at Japan's largest bronze bell discovery site
About this spot
A National Historic Site known for the discovery of 39 bronze bells (dotaku), the largest number found in Japan grouped together. The discovery site is developed on a hillside slope, and the information facility allows you to learn about the circumstances of the discovery and ancient tales connected to the bronze bells. While there are no flashy buildings, it is a place where you can contemplate the history of ancient Izumo in a serene atmosphere surrounded by lush green valleys. Highly recommended for history-loving families.
