About this spot
Held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, these fireworks are part of a summer festival passed down in Kamo Town, named “Nijusan'ya” (twenty-third night) after the moon-waiting faith tradition. The festival features a mikoshi (portable shrine) and sagicho procession along with food stalls starting at 6:00 p.m., dedicatory kagura performances and a calligraphy/painting exhibition from 7:00 p.m., and fireworks launched one after another into the night sky starting at 8:10 p.m. There is no official announcement of the number of fireworks launched, but you can enjoy them in the warm atmosphere typical of a festival deeply rooted in the local community. Overlapping with the memories of the ancient ruins and the Hii River from earlier in the day, it becomes a special night that brings Unnan's summer to a close.
