The fireworks display of the Motegi summer festival, a signature summer event of Motegi Town passed down with the Gion Festival. At Shiroyama Park, site of Motegi Castle, approximately 5,000 fireworks light up the night sky. Viewing fireworks from an elevated plateau overlooking a castle-town-like cityscape creates a special scene where regional history and the festive heat of the summer festival merge. In case of bad weather, it may be postponed to July 26 (Sunday), making it easy to plan around weather.
