About this spot
Kusatsu's only comprehensive park, featuring a popular flow-through pool and slide pool that open only in summer. The park also has small animals like carp and rabbits that you can feed and interact with. With large play equipment and day-camping grounds, it's the perfect spot to work up a sweat before heading to Karasumaru Peninsula.

2026年7月25日(土)16時から烏丸半島特設会場で開催される、琵琶湖の環境を守る願いが込められた伝統行事です。琵琶湖の水質浄化にも役立つヨシを使った松明に灯がともされ、日が暮れるにつれて湖畔は幻想的な炎の光に包まれます。19時50分ごろからは約1,000発の花火が夜空に打ち上がり、松明の炎と花火が重なるフィナーレは草津の夏を代表する光景です。会場では屋台も並び、夕食を済ませながら開演を待つこともできます。
Tips
水生植物公園みずの森から徒歩圏内です。会場周辺は夕方から大変混雑するため、早めに場所を確保しましょう。荒天時は内容が変更・中止となる場合があるため、当日の開催状況は公式発表で確認を。
Tips
Approximately 15-20 minutes by car to Yahashi Kihan Island Park. The pool is open 9:30-5:00 PM from mid-May through late August; bring a swimsuit and towel. Prepare sunscreen as the sun is strong.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour. Early morning hours mean the pool is relatively quiet.
