A pristine river flowing through Samegai Post Town (which prospered as a Nakasendo post town), with water temperatures remaining virtually constant year-round. In summer, delicate white plum blossoms (梅花藻) sway enchantingly at the riverbed, and a riverside walking path lets you stroll leisurely while enjoying the lingering essence of the post town. This is another Nakasendo post town located adjacent to Kashiwabara.

2026年7月25日(土)13時30分から中山道柏原宿一帯で開催される、宿場町ならではの夏祭りです。「やいと」とはもぐさ(お灸)を意味する地域の言葉で、柏原の伝統産業にちなんだ祭りとして親しまれています。日中から夕方にかけて宿場町の通りが祭りのにぎわいに包まれ、夕食を済ませてゆったり過ごしたあと、20時30分ごろからはメッセージ花火が夜空を彩ります。歴史ある町並みと花火が重なる光景は、柏原ならではの夏の風物詩です。

荒天時は内容が変更・中止となる場合があるため、当日の開催状況は米原市の公式発表で確認を。祭りの時間が長いため、こまめな休憩と水分補給を心がけましょう。花火が近づく夕方以降は通りが混み合うため、早めに観覧場所を決めておくと安心です。

Within walking distance of the Samegai Trout Farm. Some stretches of the riverside path have little shade, so bring sun protection. The plum blossoms are most beautiful in summer.
