Tour the Museum Preserving Chikuho Coalfield History
About this spot
A museum preserving Nogata's history as the former center of the Chikuho coalfields. The red-brick smokestack on the grounds is a precious remnant evoking the coal mines of that era. Inside, through machinery used in mining and photo archives, you can learn about the lives of people in a town that flourished through the coal industry. The grounds are landscaped as a lush park, ideal for leisurely strolling.
