Held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, this is the Yakujinja Shrine Summer Festival Imafuku Fireworks Festival (疫神社夏祭り今福花火大会) that colors summer in Imafuku-cho, Matsuura City. For one hour from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, about 1,000 fireworks shells are launched into the night sky spanning the Imafuku Port breakwater (今福港堤防) to around Yakujinja Shrine (疫神社). Fireworks filling the sky over a quiet fishing village have a simple, warm charm quite different from festivals in major cities. Watching the fireworks while feeling the sea breeze is a fitting way to close out summer, unique to Matsuura.
