About this spot

A museum preserving the history of the mining industry that once flourished in Kiwa Town, with exhibits featuring mining tools and recreations of underground passages. A trolley train departs from the museum through sections of the former ore-transport tunnels, and this small journey through mountain tunnels is immensely popular with children and adults alike. After traveling approximately 1 km through the tunnels, the trolley arrives at Yunokuchi Hot Spring (湯ノ口温泉), your next destination. An entirely unique Kiwa Town experience combining history education and ride entertainment in one.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Maruyama Senmaida. Check the trolley train's operating schedule in advance for peace of mind. After viewing the museum, you can head straight to the hot spring via trolley, so travel light.
