About this spot

Spreading across the Nanko district of Sayo-cho, this sunflower field is one of the largest of its kind in the Kansai region. In summer, the whole area turns a vivid yellow, and the scenery with distant mountains as a backdrop is exceptionally photogenic. A walking path runs through the field, letting you stroll leisurely while looking up at the sunflowers up close. Before the fireworks display, be sure to soak in this summer scenery unique to Sayo-cho.

Tips

The best viewing season typically runs from late July through early August. The daytime sun is strong, so prepare a hat, parasol, and drinks. Parking is available nearby, but it can get crowded during the season.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. The heat eases in the morning or closer to evening, making it easier to walk around
