This river recreation area sits along the clear waters of the Chikusa River (千種川), adjacent to Nanko Sports Park, which also serves as the fireworks venue. The shallows are safe for even small children to play in the water, making it a perfect place to beat the summer heat. Spread out your takeout dinner on the riverbank and relax, feeling the cool mountain breeze until the fireworks begin.
Tips
About 10 minutes by car from Michi-no-Eki Shukubamachi Hirafuku. If you plan to play in the water, don't forget a change of clothes and a towel. From evening onward, the parking lot starts to fill with fireworks spectators, so arriving early is recommended.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour 30 minutes. Evening, when the daytime heat eases, is comfortable for playing in the river
