The Okoppe Summer Festival runs over two days, Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2, 2026, with the fireworks display held on the eve-festival day, August 1, starting at 8 p.m. Fireworks launch one after another into the night sky from the plaza at Michi-no-Eki Okoppe. With few tall buildings around, the fireworks spread across an open night sky in a way that offers a different scale from a fireworks display in the city. In case of bad weather, the event may be canceled or postponed, so check Okoppe-cho's official announcement on the day for whether it will go ahead. Cars leaving the parking lot get congested after the event ends, so it's a good idea to savor the afterglow for a bit before heading out following the finale.
