About this spot
A zoo in Shunan City that has long been cherished by local families. In addition to popular animals such as lions, elephants, and giraffes, there is also a corner where you can interact with small animals, making it enjoyable even for young children. The park is full of greenery and it's nice to be able to rest in the shade while walking around. Get the whole family energized before the summer festival.

2026年8月1日(土)開催、第50回の節目を迎えるサンフェスタしんなんようのゆめ花火です。新南陽駅周辺、永源山公園一帯を舞台に、約5,000発の花火が夜空を彩ります。50回という長い歴史を積み重ねてきた地域の夏まつりとして、毎年多くの家族連れでにぎわう花火大会です。緑豊かな公園から見上げる花火は、木々のシルエットとあわさって新南陽ならではの風景をつくります。
Tips
荒天時は中止・順延となる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は主催の発表で確認を。終了後は周辺道路が混み合うため、時間差での帰宅がスムーズです。夜は気温が下がることもあるので羽織ものを忘れずに。
Tips
It is convenient to take a bus or taxi from JR Shin-Nanyo Station. During the summer, animals are often more active during cooler times of the day, so visiting earlier in the morning is also recommended.
Best time to visit
About 2 hours. Choosing shaded paths makes it easier to walk even in summer.
