An ancient temple where the Muromachi period sumi-e painter Sesshu is said to have spent his youth. It is also known for the legend of a mouse drawn with tears, and the grounds feature a historic three-story pagoda and main hall. The lush, green grounds are enveloped in stillness, making it a wonderful place to walk slowly while feeling the weight of history. This is a place where you can actually visit and experience the origins of "Sesshu Festa," which is commemorated in the name of the Soja Citizen Festival.

2026年8月1日(土)開催、総社市民まつり「雪舟フェスタ」を締めくくる花火大会です。会場の高梁川河川敷グラウンドは総社大橋の北側に広がる開放的な場所で、約2,500発の花火が夜空いっぱいに打ち上がります。広々とした河川敷から見上げる花火は迫力満点で、雪舟ゆかりの町・総社の夏祭りにふさわしいフィナーレを飾ります。

Tips

荒天時は中止や延期の可能性があるため、当日は総社市の公式発表で開催可否を確認を。終了後は駐車場や周辺道路が混み合うため、時間差での帰宅がおすすめです。河川敷は足元が暗いので、スマホのライトなどを用意しておくと安心です。

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Soja Bridge. It is customary to worship quietly on the temple grounds. Summer offers plenty of shade, making it possible to view while avoiding the heat.
