Watch approximately 2,200 fireworks illuminate Lake Shiji's night sky and surface
About this spot
The fireworks of the Shijiji Town Gion Festival (Renge Festival), affectionately known as the Renge Festival, held on July 27, 2026. Approximately 2,200 fireworks launch from the Lake Shiji shore, creating a beautiful "reflected fireworks" scene as the light reflects on the calm lake surface. A summer tradition long treasured by the community, this festival brings together local residents and visitors in the warm atmosphere of gazing at the night sky. Please enjoy the stunning contrast between the quiet water surface characteristic of the lake and the brilliant fireworks.

Tips
In case of bad weather, the event may be cancelled or postponed; check the organizer's announcement on the day. The area near the closest station and roads will be congested after the show ends, so staggered departure is recommended. The lakeside becomes dark underfoot, so a small light is helpful.
Best time to visit
20:30-21:00 show time. Viewing from a position where the lake is visible allows you to also enjoy the reflected fireworks.
