About this spot

This is a complex of a farmers' market and cafe located in the farmland of Nishikan Ward, Niigata City, lined with plenty of fresh local vegetables, fruit, and processed goods. This market, where you can feel the agricultural richness of the former Maki town area, is a perfect place to fill up on food at the start of your trip. The cafeteria also serves set meals made with local ingredients. Since it's close to the venue, Wanou Sanjinja Shrine, it's also a good idea to stop by for souvenirs on your way back.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from the venue. The area around the venue can get crowded from the evening onward on the day of the fireworks display, so it's reassuring to pick up drinks and snacks during the day.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. From morning through early afternoon, the selection is plentiful and it's relatively uncrowded.
