Along the Hokura River flowing east-west through Uragawara Ward spreads terraced rice paddies and rural mountain scenery. Walking along the peaceful riverside road parallel to National Route 253, you can feel the quiet mountain village air unavailable in the city. Spend leisurely time gazing at the brilliantly green summer rice paddy scenery.
Tips
About 10 minutes by car from Kenshoji Temple. The riverside has sections with uneven ground, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Best time to visit
About 1 hour required. As evening approaches, a cool breeze blows, making it easier to walk.
