Sengoku-period mountain fortress ruins surrounded by forest—a historical stroll

About this spot

The ruins of a mountain fortress believed to have been built by Sengoku warlord Hojo Ujiteru, designated as a national historic site. The site features a recreated castle town guidance facility, stone walls built into the mountainside, and ruins of the main residence, allowing you to imagine the castle as it once was while exploring. The forest-surrounded mountain path is relatively cool even in summer, making it an attractive spot for families to enjoy a hiking-like stroll and experience Hachioji's history at the start of your day.
