About this spot

This cape is known as one of the most scenic spots on Okinawa's main island, with cliffs about 30 meters high continuing for roughly 2 kilometers. The white lighthouse also serves as an observation deck, and climbing to the top opens up a sweeping 360-degree panorama of the East China Sea. The contrast between the rugged cliffs and the calm sea offers scenery where you can feel Okinawa's grand, majestic nature. The resort where tonight's fireworks will be held is also nearby, letting you flow naturally from an evening stroll at the cape into the nighttime fireworks.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from Chura SUN Beach. Some sections along the cliffs have no fencing, so watch small children carefully as you walk. A separate admission fee is required to enter the lighthouse.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 15 minutes. The slanting evening light beautifully illuminates the cliffs and the sea.
