An area that preserves the legacy of Ishibe Shukubanosato, which once flourished as a post town on the Tokaido route. Along the old highway, buildings and signs retaining historical character are scattered throughout, allowing you to enjoy a walk through history. Stroll leisurely through the town streets while imagining the travelers who journeyed along the Tokaido.
Tips
About 10 minutes by car from Chojuji Temple. In summer, the sun is strong, so don't forget a hat and water. Be mindful of vehicle traffic while walking along the old highway.
Best time to visit
Takes about 1 hour. You can enjoy the town's atmosphere in the soft afternoon light.
