About this spot

A shrine long revered as the tutelary shrine of Okawa City, with a history of over 1,600 years. The well-maintained grounds feature the main shrine hall and other structures with traditional charm, enveloped in a peaceful and serene atmosphere. Known for blessings of purification and safe childbirth, it has long been cherished by local residents. Before the summer festival, be sure to pay respects to the local tutelary deity.

Tips

It's convenient to reach by bus or taxi from JR Okawa Station. The grounds have plenty of shade, offering relatively cool visits even in summer.

Best time to visit

Takes about 1 hour. Mid-morning to early afternoon offers relatively quiet worship.
