The floodplain of the Kizugawa River, flowing through southern Kyoto Prefecture, is a pleasant spot for a stroll along its wide embankment path. In the crisp air unique to October, once summer's heat has eased, you can walk leisurely while feeling the breeze off the water. The venue where fireworks will launch tonight is also nearby, letting you take in the riverside atmosphere during the day. With plenty of open space for kids to run around freely, it's ideal for families to relax.

Tips

A hat is reassuring for times when the sun is still strong. Parts of the embankment path are unpaved, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Gradually make your way toward the venue as evening approaches.

About 1 hour 30 minutes. The temperature becomes more pleasant as autumn evening approaches.
