This shopping street spreads out in front of JR Kakogawa Station and is the central downtown area of Kakogawa City, lined with restaurants and shops. Many restaurants serve katsumeshi, a local specialty of pork cutlet topped with demi-glace sauce, making it perfect for a light bite. Ahead of the fireworks, it is a good idea to finish your shopping and meal in the afternoon, avoiding the evening crowds.

Tips

There are several parking lots around the station, making it convenient. Katsumeshi tastes differ by restaurant, so it is fun to compare a few. From evening onward, the area starts to get crowded with people heading to the fireworks.
