About this spot

This is the area where the former riverbank landing of Sekiyado, once a key hub of river trade, and the lock gate connecting the Tone River and the Edo River still remain. Walking along the levee, you can view the leisurely flow of the river and this historic water management facility. It is the perfect walking course to spend the afternoon before the fireworks while feeling the cool river breeze.

Tips

Within walking distance of the Kitachiba Water Transfer Visitor Center (北千葉導水ビジターセンター). There is little shade along the levee, so bring a hat and something to drink.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour needed. The afternoon hours, when sunlight softens, are easiest for a stroll
