This is the climax of the 53rd Musashi-no-Sato Evening Cool Summer Night Festival, held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with the venue off Musashi Port. About 4,000 fireworks color the night sky over the Suo Sea, closing out summer on the Kunisaki Peninsula together with bands of light reflected on the water's surface. Thanks to its location on a beach with a fishing port, there is little to block the view of the fireworks, making it a great spot for the whole family to watch at ease. It's an expansive fireworks night to savor along with the scent of the sea and the evening breeze.

In case of severe weather, the event may be canceled or postponed, so check Kunisaki City's official announcements on the day. Roads get congested after the event ends, so it's recommended to wait a while before heading home. It's dark underfoot on the beach, so it's a good idea to bring a flashlight or your smartphone's light.

Best time to visit

The festival starts at 5:00 p.m. The fireworks launch in a concentrated burst over about 20 minutes, so settle into your spot before it gets dark.
