This is the climax of the Watari Furusato Summer Festival, held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with the venue around Torinoumi Park. About 5,000 fireworks fill the night sky over the seaside, coloring the summer of Watari, a town that has walked the path of recovery from the earthquake disaster. Thanks to the open seaside location, there is little to block the view of the fireworks, making it a great spot for the whole family to watch at ease. Fireworks enjoyed with the sea breeze make for a special night where you can feel the community's energetic spirit.

Roads get very congested after the event ends, so it's recommended to wait a while before heading home. It's dark underfoot on the seaside, so it's a good idea to bring a flashlight or your smartphone's light.
