About this spot
Yasuki City is a land that has prospered since ancient times from tatara iron-smelting, and this museum allows you to learn its history and techniques in detail. Tools and materials used in the traditional technique of making steel from iron sand are on display, and you can appreciate the depth of craftsmanship in creating "Yasuki steel," known as the raw material for Japanese swords. The museum is air-conditioned, making it a wonderful spot for families to cool off and learn during hot summer afternoons. Learning about the region's industrial history brings Yasuki closer to your heart.
