This park sits by Yasugi Port, where the fireworks are launched. Yasugi Port faces Lake Nakaumi (中海) and once thrived as a port for shipping rice and iron goods; today it supports local industry, including companies in the waterfront industrial park. As evening approaches, food stalls for the summer festival line up, filling the area with local energy. Settle into a spot along the harbor and fill up on food-stall fare or a takeout dinner. Watching the sky's colors shift as the sun sets is also part of the enjoyment unique to this festival.

Tips

About a 10-minute drive from Yasugi Park. The roads around the harbor get crowded from evening onward on the day of the fireworks display, so allow plenty of time to get there. Arriving early is recommended if you want to secure a good viewing spot.

About 1 hour 15 minutes needed. The time as the sunset colors shift into night is a highlight.
