About this spot

A quiet lake known as a brackish-water lake, spreading across the southwestern part of Izumo City. A promenade is maintained around the lake, letting you take a leisurely stroll while enjoying seasonal wild birds and waterside plants. The rich waterside nature, also known for its corbicula clam fishery, is the highlight, making it a spot where you can relax away from the bustle of the city. Tonight's fireworks will be launched from over this lake, so it's worth getting a feel for the lake's atmosphere during the day.

Tips

About 20 minutes by car from JR Izumoshi Station. There's little to block the sun in summer, so a hat or sunscreen is reassuring to have. Binoculars will make birdwatching even more enjoyable.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour 15 minutes. The lake surface is calm and the scenery beautiful from morning through midday
