Overlook the Townscape from Rare Castle Ruins Integrated with JR Station

About this spot

A historic site at the center of Mihara Castle built by the Sengoku warlord Koichi Kobayakawa. It is nationally rare for being integrated with the home platform of JR Mihara Station. From within the stone-walled Tenshu Platform ruins, you can survey Mihara's townscape and the Seto Inland Sea, and feel the remnants of the castle once called the "Floating Castle." While gazing toward the direction of tonight's fireworks over the port, enjoy a historical walk through Mihara.

Fireworks details

Name:

Date & time: 8/9 (Sun) Time TBA

Venue:

Tips

Tips

Just a short walk from JR Mihara Station, accessible even from within the station building. As there is little shade atop the stone walls, an umbrella or hat is recommended during summer. Ukishiro Road is just a short walk away.

Best time to visit

Approximately 45 minutes required. Early afternoon hours attract fewer tourists, allowing for leisurely sightseeing.
