About this spot

Terado Shinsui Park (寺戸親水公園) spreads along the levee on the left bank of the Saijogawa River (西城川). Its cherry-tree-lined path is a favorite walking route, and near the confluence with the Bassenkawa River (馬洗川) there is a gazebo where you can rest while listening to the murmur of the two rivers meeting. On the day of the Miyoshi Citizens' Fireworks Festival, food stalls line up in the evening, filling the area with the warm bustle unique to a community fireworks festival. Settle in for dinner and wait for the show to start while watching the sky over the Miyoshi Basin change color.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from the Miyoshi Winery (三次ワイナリー). On the day of the fireworks display, the surrounding roads get crowded from evening onward, so allow extra travel time. Autumn nights can get chilly, so bring something to layer on for peace of mind.

About 1 hour 15 minutes. The transition from sunset to nightfall is the highlight
