About this spot

This port town has welcomed many travelers as the gateway to Sado Island. Centered on the Sado Kisen ferry terminal, it's lined with souvenir shops and eateries, giving off the island's characteristic relaxed atmosphere. Just walking along and watching boats come and go builds anticipation for the day of Sado sightseeing ahead. Since the port area gets much busier from evening onward on the day of the fireworks display, it's best to explore it around the port during the daytime first.

Tips

A short walk from Ryotsu Port Terminal. The summer sun can be strong, so don't forget a hat and sun protection. You'll need a car to get to Toki Forest Park afterward.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. Morning through early afternoon tends to be relatively quiet for walking.
